Whether you've seen him presenting on Made With Pride TV, listened to his radio show on Pride Radio or seen him on stage in a Pantomime, a Musical or giving his critique as a Talent Show Judge, you'll probably best know David as member of Pop & Eurovision Super Group SCOOCH who took the charts by storm in the 90s and then flew the flag in 2007 for the UK with the biggest selling UK Eurovision hit since Katrina & The Waves. In 2024 SCOOCH regrouped, recording and filming a promo 'It's Your Show!' for official Eurovison airline, Easy Jet.

 

Describing himself as a "one man band" he has a career he is very modest about. “Yes, I've done an awful lot - but there is so much to do!”.

 

David ran his own theatre school 'Performers' for 22 years, and has directed over 50 productions including Matilda, Legally Blonde, Sweeney Todd, Stepping Out, Steel Magnolias, Our Day Out, Cats, The Producers, Avenue Q, Into The Woods, Peter Pan - the UK Musical, Hairspray and his two favourites, Disney’s Beauty & the Beast and We Will Rock You which was performed at The Sage, Gateshead, starring former student and Little Mixer, Jade Thirlwall as Scaramouche.

 

David has directed 'Oliver!', 'Beauty & the Beast', 'Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' and 'Annie' for Astravaganza Entertainment and will direct 'Everybody's Talking About Jamie' in his hometown, South Shields at The Customs House Theatre in 2025.
